Properties of many material changes when the size scale of their dimension approaches nanometer. Those properties are understood and utilized for processing and manufacturing of materials at the Nanoscale. By the application of nanotechnology, we have able to produce new Composite materials, ceramic, polymers, crystals. Development of Quasicrystal has much application like Coating to reduce the cracking of Extrema Brittle material, Insulation, solar absorbers for power conversion, bone repair etc. Nanotechnology has many applications of polymeric materials. Polymer or Copolymer having nanoparticles or Nanofillers dispersed in the polymer matrix.

Nano Electronics involves the study of the synthesis and characterization of materials of nanoscale size. It is the combination of chemistry and nanoscience. At extremely small level Quantum effect is very significant, fascinating and potentially scientifically very rewarding innovative ways of carrying out chemical reactions are possible. Nanoparticles have the high surface to volume ratio which has a dramatic effect on their properties. This small size of nanoparticles gives them unusual structure and optical properties with applications in catalysis, electro-optical devices, medicine, cosmetics etc.

Track 6: Nanomedicine and drug delivery

Nanotechnology offers some exciting possibilities in medicine Science. Application of Nanotechnology in nanomedicine involves two main techniques i.e. Diagnostic technique and Therapeutic technique. Nanoflares are nanoparticles which are designed bind to genetic targets in cancer cells and generate light when that particular genetic target is found. Applications of nanoparticles are currently under development, as well as longer range research that involves the use of manufactured nanorobots to make repairs at the cellular level. Solutions such as nanoformulations with a triggered release for tailor-made pharmacokinetics, nanoparticles for local control of tumor in combination with radiotherapy, and functionalized nanoparticles for targeted in-vivo activation of stem cell production are anticipated to drive R&D, consequently resulting in revenue generation in the coming years. Nanosponges which are polymer nanoparticles coated with a red blood cell membrane are used for removing the toxin from the bloodstream.

Nanobiotechnology refers to the intersection of nanotechnology and biology. The subject is one that has only emerged very recently and serves as blanket terms for various related technologies. The utilization of the inherent properties of nucleic acids like DNA to create useful materials is a promising area of modern research. Most of the devices designed for nanobiotechnological use are directly based on other existing nanotechnologies. Track 8: Nanotechnology and Catalysis

Catalysis is the acceleration of a chemical reaction by means of a substance, called a catalyst, which is itself not consumed by the overall reaction. Nanoparticles with their extremely large surface area have become much researched as catalysts as particles get smaller the larger their surface to volume ratio becomes. Especially in heterogeneous catalysis - where the catalyst is in a different phase to the reactants, and that is largely influenced by surface properties. Nanotechnology catalytical techniques are having a profound impact on clean energy research and development, ranging from hydrogen and liquid fuel production to clean combustion technologies. Template-synthesis strategy is a new technique in which catalyst nanoparticles dispersed on the pore surface of a hard template. Nanomaterials have been explored for mimicking natural enzymes.

Studies have indicated that low solubility nanoparticles are more toxic than larger particles on a mass for mass basis.
